This song is a perfect way to tell people the importance of sunscreen in life.
Done with my exams and it's just one more year to go before I finish my course and start hunting for jobs. This summer vacation ought to be a special one for me. I cannot afford to miss this last chance. I know my next summer will not be the same. What is in store for me is better left for destiny to decide. But certainly, life out of college is a life unpredicted.
Well, I have a list of plans rather a to-do list for this summer. First on the list is shopping for the vacation trip. Let's hit the street! Mean while I need to talk to a travel agent and make the necessary arrangements. Ah, shopping is a kind of rejuvenating therapy for ladies I tell you.
All set, the status say flight is on time. I am on my way to board the plane. The pretty air-hostess greeted me. I am inside the plane and neatly tucked in my seat.
Announcement: Fasten your seat belts; the flight is above to take off.
Guess what? I am flying to my dream destination, Mauritius.
Announcement: Last call for the passenger Miss Kyra; this is your last call for boarding.
I could not wait any longer. I am praying, whoever it is, she just makes it on time.
Okay, here she is. I could not take my eyes off her, mesmerizing. She is so pretty. The plane takes off.
Kyra is seated in the row just before me. I admired her all through the journey. Her spotless pink toned skin with just the right touch of make-up, her twinkling beautiful eyes, seducing glossy lips, her dark brown shinny hair, she is in a perfect little yellow dress; she was like an angel who just walked out of a Lakme studio!
Announcement: Fasten your seat belts; the plane is above to land. Welcome to Mauritius.
I reached the resort my travel agent had booked for me. In the twilight of the evening, in the luxurious resort on the beach side, with a warm welcome for me and fellow tourists; I thought heaven would be no different! I entered my allotted living place in the resort, wow. A balcony facing sea side, this is a view to die for! I caught the first glimpse of sun setting into the beach, I am lost for words.
I am sitting in the balcony sipping my mocktail and the ecstatic dinner is neatly arranged to perfection; I took no time in priding myself as a royal ambassador. My eyes are getting drowsy and just want to jump on bed and get that cozy good night's sleep.
I opened my eyes and dawn was something I had not seen ever before, sunrise was a breath taking view. I was like a crazy kid dying to hit the beach. All dressed in bright beach shorts and funky printed top, matching yellow chappal (flip flops you see!) and bag hung on my shoulder and a complementing sunglasses along with a hat for that extra beach touch.
Oh no! I must have been a fool to forget my sunscreen and I planned for the beach? This is so going to ruin my holidays and take a toll on my skin. I left my room in confusion.
On a beach of a tropical country like Mauritius and that too during summer how will I enjoy my day without sunscreen? It looks bright and sunny outside; it is hot and humid. My luck has failed!
I walked my way to beach trying to protect my face from direct sun rays with the help of my hat. Isn't she Kyar? I said to myself. The same girl I saw in the plane.
She must be very bold and confident. She is in two piece bikini on the beach and nothing else other than a pair of sunglasses. She is under scorching sun and almost all of her skin is exposed. She is also very fair and that means her skin must be extra sensitive to sun! But, look at her she is flaunting in sun with no sign of worries.
Me: Hey. Aren't you Kyra?
Kyra: Yes.
Me: I actually saw you in the plane yesterday.
Kyra: Oh, is it?
We got to know each other very well in just a matter of half an hour. We became comfy and explored our common interests. Soon it was a friendly girl's talk on the beach.
I wasted no more time and told her about by loss of memory to pack the sunscreen! Kyra is a darling; she offered me her sunscreen which was one of the new ranges from Lakhme. She said it is the right one for a holiday on the beach. It is with SPF 50 and rightly called the Lakhme Sun Expert.
We sang with joy-
Sun, sun, go away!
We’re not scared of you anyway.

It was the first day in Mauritius and it was the day to enjoy the scenic beauty. I found a treasure in Mauritius, Kyra. Soon it was dusk and a day well spent. We discussed our plans for the next few days and decided to have fun together.
We had dinner together and returned to our rooms. After the shower I see an amazing change. Wola! The sunscreen given by Kyra had worked. There were no signs of suntan or discoloration on my skin. Rather I discovered a new radiant skin. Thanks to Kyra and to Lakhme. I can now fearlessly wander under the sun without having to cover from head to toe and look like Daku Mangal Singh!
Kyra had a list of manic acts to enjoy on the beach! This girl is no less than a bond girl, ready for adventures! We went on hopping from beach to beach. This was a solid idea from miss Kyra, or should I say Ms sunshine!
It was time for some real water sports- yatching, water-skiing, wind-surfing, Scuba-diving and dolphin watch, all these on various beaches. You name it and I will tell you- 'we had been there'. Tamarin, grand Baie, Point aux Piments, Choisy, Belle Mare and Blue Bay which was my favorite. Blue bay was exceptionally scenic and too serene to believe.
I think we almost had a journey from north to south and east to west. The trip can be given the name as 'Around the beaches of Mauritius for adventure'. No doubt Kyra is a wanderlust girl. She is fun and frolic to be with.
There was something undone yet. That was my part of craze. It was something that I was here for. I am a dance freak! I could not get back home without trying to put my best foot forward. It is now time for Sega, the traditional Mauritian dance. Tomorrow was time for real twist and turns.
Le-Cocoa beach resort was the venue. The ladies looked stunning. After the evening performance from the experts it was time for us to give it a try. Guests were given the dance dresses too. I and Kyra dressed in long swaying skirt printed with bright flowery motifs and floral blouse stepped in on the dance floor. The skirts sway freely with the swinging movement of the dancers and you see nothing but colors all over the floor.
Last two days to go and Kyra has still something left to do. Beach volley ball, yes we enjoyed it. After all the adventures, it was much relaxing.
Mauritius is also known for skin treatments and we were asked if we would like to get one on our last day. Me and Kyra like proudly turning our heads left and right said nah. When there is Lakhme sunscreen for protection how can our skin ask for anything else?
Kyra managed to postpone her ticket so that we could both travel back home together. There was nothing more I could have asked from this trip. A friend like Kyra and fun that I never thought off was more than I expected.
Men talk about Friday bar hop during happy hours. But what we chose to do was way too fun, girls beach hopping in summer! Kyra, I, the beach and the sun were all friends now. Thanks to the magical Lakme sun protection for bringing us together.
It was time to say bye to Kyra till we plan to meet over a cup of coffee. I complimented her for her flawless beauty and said 'Kyra you look like a duplicate of Kareena, so beautiful and gorgeous'. I winked and said- 'Kyra, you could be the next brand ambassador for Lakme'!
